Former VP Atiku Abubakar provides N100m aid to Borno flood victims, urges support from organizations.

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has provided a N100 million donation to support the Borno State government's relief efforts following the devastating floods that hit Maiduguri.

The recent flooding, triggered by the collapse of the Alau Dam, resulted in loss of life, widespread property destruction, and displacement of thousands of residents in the Borno State capital.

During a visit to Governor Babagana Zulum in Maiduguri on Sunday, Atiku announced the donation, offering prayers for the deceased, a speedy recovery for the injured, and support for those who suffered property losses.

Atiku Abubakar, the Peoples Democratic Party's 2023 presidential nominee, urged organizations and philanthropists to provide additional support to the Borno State government and its people to aid in the recovery process.

Atiku also advocated for a thorough investigation into the cause of the flooding incident to identify measures that can be taken to prevent similar disasters from occurring in the future.

Delegations from Yobe and Gombe states, who also visited the affected area, followed Atiku's lead by announcing donations of N100 million each to support the relief efforts, demonstrating a united front in responding to the crisis.
