Venezuela Celebrates Unprecedented Three-Win Streak, Tops Group B with 3-0 Victory

Venezuela makes history with 3-0 win over Jamaica, advancing to Copa America quarterfinals with unprecedented three-win streak. Eduard Bello, Salomon Rondon, and Eric Ramirez score in dominant performance. Venezuela faces Canada in next round on July 6.

In a thrilling encounter at Q2 Stadium in Austin, Texas, Venezuela's national team made history by defeating Jamaica 3-0 in their final regular phase match of the 2024 Copa América. This victory marked an unprecedented three-win streak, securing their spot in the next round with 9 points and first place in Group B. The outcome was made possible by goals from Eduard Bello (49'), Salomón Rondón (56'), and Eric Ramirez (84'), and was further aided by the draw between Mexico and Ecuador.

The match began with a promising start from Venezuela, thanks to the brilliance of Eduard Bello, who plays for Mazatlán FC in Mexico. Bello's early attempt to find Salomón Rondón in the six-yard box nearly resulted in a goal, but was thwarted by Jamaican goalkeeper Jahmali Waite. Waite, who plays for El Paso Locomotive in the USL Championship, made an impressive right-hand stop in the 40th minute to deny a score. Venezuela's Machis attempted a risky shot aimed for the upper corner of the Caribbean goal, but Waite was equal to the task.

As the first half drew to a close, Venezuela won a corner kick, and Cephas controlled the ball with his chest, bringing it into midfield. However, the play was abandoned due to a foul on Turkish winger Ankaragücü.

However, the breakthrough came in the 49th minute when Eduard Bello scored the opening goal with a superb header, assisted by Jon Aramburu. This goal marked a historic moment for Venezuela, as they won three games in a row for the first time in their history. The crowd at Q2 Stadium erupted in celebration, and Venezuela went on to dominate the match.

The victory was sealed with two more goals from Salomón Rondón (56') and Eric Ramirez (84'), securing a 3-0 win for Venezuela.

Salomón Rondón was awarded man of the match, and Venezuela's win earned them a spot in the final eight against Canada on July 6 at 2:00 BST. This historic win marked a significant milestone for Venezuela's national team, and they will look to continue their impressive run in the tournament.
