Global music sensation Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr., has been selected as a torchbearer for the Paris 2024 Olympics. He will carry the Olympic flame in the final stretch leading up to the opening ceremony on Friday.


The 52-year-old American rapper took to Instagram to share the exciting news, confirming his participation in this prestigious honor. As a torchbearer, Snoop Dogg will have the privilege of carrying the Olympic flame through the suburb of Saint-Denis, located north of Paris.


Saint-Denis is a significant location, as it is home to the iconic Stade de France Olympic Stadium and the Olympic Village. The official opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympics is scheduled for July 26, marking the beginning of the highly anticipated event, which will run until August 11.


In addition to his torchbearing duties, Snoop Dogg will also be joining forces with NBCUniversal to serve as a correspondent for the Paris 2024 Olympics. Throughout the event, he will deliver regular reports and share his distinctive perspective on the action unfolding in Paris.
