The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has set a minimum score of 140 for university admission and 100 for polytechnic admission. This decision was made at the 2024 Policy Meeting on Admissions to Tertiary Institutions held in Abuja on Thursday, July 16.

According to Prof. Ish-haq Oloyede, Registrar of JAMB, the approved minimum scores are 140 for university admission and 100 for polytechnics and institutes of education. While these scores are the minimum requirements, Oloyede emphasized that institutions have the discretion to set higher benchmarks for admission, as the approved scores are not binding.
