Bayero's Yoruba Roots Win Him Tinubu's Favour — NNPP Chair
Bayero's Yoruba heritage earns him Tinubu's support says NNPP Chairman
Beleaguered Bayero is benefiting from Tinubu's backing due to his Yoruba ancestry says NNPP Chair.
NNPP Chair, Hashim Dungurawa, accuses President Tinubu of destabilizing Kano State by backing Aminu Ado Bayero as Emir due to shared Yoruba heritage, warns of consequences in 2027 election.
Kano State's NNPP chairman, Hashim Dungurawa, accuses President Tinubu of destabilizing the state by attempting to install Aminu Ado Bayero as the 15th Emir of Kano, allegedly due to their shared Yoruba heritage.
In an address to media in Kano on Sunday, he made this claim regarding the accomplishments of the NNPP-led government in the state over the previous 12 months.
According to Dungurawa, the Nigerian Army, Police, DSS, and other security agencies have no justification for providing Emir Bayero with extra protection, as it would go against the wishes of the state administration.
He issued a dire warning, saying that in 2027, President Tinubu would be held accountable for his purported intervention in the Kano Emirate dispute.
“Your perceived stance on the ongoing Kano Emirate Tussle would surely work against you in 2027 because if you think you can use it to gain ground in Kano when the chips are down you will realise your mistakes.
“If the President thinks he will use a few of his kinsmen in Kano and the alleged Bayero's Yoruba lineage to continue to keep the deposed Emir Aminu Ado Bayero in the State, let him wait for 2027, we will show him that those people will not help him,” Dungurawa warned.
He then pleaded with the President to use common sense and take all necessary steps to ensure that the deposed Emir was removed from Kano, thus ending the disastrous Kano Emirate.
The National Leader of the Party, Dr. Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso, would continue to be the NNPP State chairman's presidential candidate in the 2027 election cycle, guaranteeing the latter's position as Nigeria's next head of state.
