During its 142nd meeting, the National Economic Council (NEC) emphasized the crucial role of the Niger Delta Power Holding Company (NDPHC) in driving the nation's economic growth and development. The council recognized the significance of the NDPHC in addressing the country's power challenges and its potential to stimulate economic progress.

These presentations aimed to inform and guide the council's decision-making processes, ensuring effective solutions to the nation's economic and environmental challenges.
President Bola Tinubu launched the National Construction and Household Support Programme on Thursday, a comprehensive initiative aimed at supporting vulnerable families and stimulating economic growth. Under this program, 100,000 families in each state will receive a monthly grant of N50,000 for three months, totaling N150,000 per family.
The program also includes a significant allocation for food support, with N155 billion earmarked for the distribution of assorted food items. Additionally, N540 billion will be allocated for household grants, providing critical financial assistance to families in need. Furthermore, each of the 36 states and the Federal Capital Territory will receive N10 billion for the procurement of Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses, promoting sustainable transportation and reducing reliance on fossil fuels.
The total estimated cost of this support program is over N1 trillion, demonstrating the government's commitment to supporting vulnerable families and stimulating economic growth. By providing financial assistance, food support, and investing in sustainable transportation, this program aims to make a tangible impact on the lives of millions of Nigerians.
