Willian José Set to Depart Real Betis for Spartak Moscow
Real Betis forward Willian José is on the verge of joining Russian club Spartak Moscow in a deal worth around €3m, including add-ons, as Betis looks to offload a significant salary.
Real Betis are poised to bid farewell to Brazilian forward Willian José, who is on the cusp of joining Russian Premier League side Spartak Moscow. According to reports, the deal is almost done, with only the final details remaining to be sorted.
The transfer is believed to be worth around €3m, including add-ons, which will provide a welcome financial boost to Betis. Moreover, the club will also save a substantial amount on Willian José's salary, which was reportedly one of the highest at the club.
Willian José joined Betis in 2019 and has since made 109 appearances, scoring 94 goals. Despite his impressive goal-scoring record, the 30-year-old has struggled to find consistency and has fallen out of favor with the coaching staff.
Spartak Moscow, on the other hand, will be gaining an experienced and prolific striker who has proven his credentials in La Liga. Willian José's move to Russia marks a new chapter in his career, and he will be looking to make an immediate impact at his new club.
The transfer is expected to be officially announced in the coming days, bringing an end to Willian José's three-year stint at Real Betis.
