Tinubu Names Hashimu Argungu New PSC Chair


Hashimu Argungu takes Solomon Arase's post as PSC chairman under Tinubu.


President Tinubu appoints Hashimu Argungu as new PSC chairman, replacing Solomon Arase. DIG Taiwo Lakanu and Onyemuche Nnamani also appointed as member and secretary respectively, pending Senate confirmation.



DIG Hashimu Argungu (Rtd), who would succeed former IGP Solomon Arase as chairman of the Police Service Commission (PSC), has been appointed by President Bola Tinubu.


Furthermore, the President has approved the appointment of DIG Taiwo Lakanu (Rtd) as a member of the Commission and Onyemuche Nnamani as its secretary.


Ajuri Ngelale, the presidential spokesperson, stated in a statement that the Senate must confirm the selections.


He said that more Police Service Commission members will be appointed when the time is appropriate.


Furthermore, Mohammed Sheidu is now officially the Executive Secretary of the Nigeria Police Trust Fund (NPTF) since the President has approved his appointment.


“The President expects absolute demonstration of integrity, diligence, and patriotic zeal in the discharge of these important functions for the overall wellbeing of the Nigeria Police and the nation,” Ngelale stated.
