Eid-ul-Kabir, Muslims Are Urged By Imam To Give Meat To The Poor

Islamic leader urges Muslims to share Eid meat with the poor, emphasizing the importance of compassion and generosity during difficult times. Deputy Chief Imam Mallam Muhammad Ali Goni Kamsulum encourages affluent Muslims to follow Prophet Mohammad's example and support those in need.

Mallam Muhammad Ali Goni Kamsulum, the Deputy Chief Imam of Yobe Mosque and Islamic Center, has urged affluent Muslims to share meat in order to help the state's less fortunate citizens, especially during this difficult time when living expenses are so high.

The call was made by Mallam Kamsulum during his speech at the Islamic Center Damaturu on Sunday during the Eid-el-Kabir prayer this year.

Mal Ali Goni exhorted Muslims to love one another and to look out for one another as brothers.

The Islamic scholar also counseled Muslims to live in harmony with one another and share meat with others in order to model and imitate the life of Prophet Mohammad (SAW).

He also cautioned Muslims to spend time with loved ones because many cannot afford to make sacrifices because of the rising cost of life.

The Chief Imam slaughtered his ram to represent the opportunity for others to follow suit after pleading with God for a bountiful crop, the restoration of total peace and stability in the state and the nation.

Following the Eid prayer, Yobe Deputy Governor Hon. Idi Barde Gubana spoke with reporters on the lessons Eid-el-Kabir imparts, particularly around helping the less fortunate.

He emphasized that in order to alleviate the suffering in the nation, enhance security, and reap a bountiful harvest during planting season, the Yobe people must pray more intensely.

He added that, “As we celebrate, let us embody these values by showing compassion, generosity and support to our neighbours and the wider community.”
