Oyo Court Remands 25 Students for Murder

Oyo court remands 25 Ajayi Crowther University students in relation to a colleague who was fatally beaten.

On Wednesday, the Chief Magistrate of Oyo State arraigned no less than twenty-five Ajayi Crowther University students.

Alex Timileyi, a 200-level engineering student at the university, was allegedly accused of stealing a cell phone and was clubbed to death on May 24, 2023, by his peers. The students are suspected of being Alex Timileyi's killers.

Additionally, it was stated that the deceased's attackers had physically cut his hair after discovering the stolen cell phone on him.

The management of the school declared that some of the students who were suspected of being involved in the crime would be expelled after it happened, and they were then turned over to the police for state prosecution.

Seyi Makinde, the governor of Oyo State, had previously received a petition from a family of the dead, pleading with him to see to it that the people responsible for the killing were prosecuted.

The university has not yet released any more remarks regarding the situation.
