Police Nab UNIBEN Graduate's Killer in Delta


The Edo State Police Command has announced the arrest of the suspected killer of Glory Adekolure, a University of Benin (UNIBEN) graduate. Adekolure was last seen on June 13, 2024, on her way to submit her project, but her body was later found under a tree in the lyowa Community of Benin City.



Fifteen days after her death, the police announced that the suspect had been apprehended in Delta State. According to the Edo State Commissioner of Police, Funsho Adegboye, the suspected murderer was arrested in Asaba, the Delta State capital, on Friday, June 28.


The Commissioner of Police (CP) revealed that the suspect has not been paraded yet, as investigations are still underway. However, the CP disclosed that the suspect has confessed to killing at least 7 other young women besides Glory.


Glory's brother expressed his deep anguish and grief, lamenting the loss of his sister. He hoped for justice to be served and for the suspect to face the consequences of his heinous crimes.


“Justice for my younger sister Adekolure Idowu Glory, who was rape and killed in lyowa Community Benin Edo state on her way back from school (Uniben) she went for her clearance and her corpse drop close to her mother's house,” He said.
