Foreign Minister and Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi perished in a helicopter crash.



Ebrahim Raisi, the president of Iran, and his foreign minister perished in a helicopter crash on Monday, May 20, when search crews found the wreckage in the province of East Azerbaijan.


On Sunday, May 19, President Raisi and his counterpart from Azerbaijan officially opened the Qiz Qalasi Dam on their shared border. prior to their helicopters running some difficulties while traveling to Tabriz.


A search was launched after Raisi's helicopter lost communication with the others thirty minutes into the journey.


A top Iranian official declared, “President Raisi, the foreign minister, and all the passengers in the helicopter were killed in the crash.”


Initially, reports stated that two members of the group pinpointed the accident's location within a two-kilometer radius to rescue teams and the Ministry of Communications.


Ayatollah Seyyed Ali Khamenei, the Supreme Leader, had met with the families of the Islamic Revolution Guards Corps and had expressed hope for Raisi's safe return. He also urged the country to maintain its composure and assured them that activities will continue as usual.


Drones and search dogs were used to assist the more than 40 rescue teams who were sent to the disaster scene.


The US and other foreign nations kept a careful eye on the situation as well.


The incident happened in Dizmar's forested, mountainous region, close to Varzaghan.


Military and medical professionals were sent to the location despite the difficulties caused by the inclement weather.


Since 2021, Raisi's administration has been characterized by both internal difficulties and regional conflicts, which include the most recent conflict in Gaza.


Iran's foreign policy has been based on his unwavering commitment to aiding Palestine.


Raisi, who was born in Mashhad in 1960, has held positions as the deputy head of the Judicial Authority and the prosecutor general of Tehran.


His heritage is marked by a distinguished lineage, directly descending from the Prophet Mohammed, which sets his leadership apart.
