Mourinho Sees A Magnificent Comeback For Man Utd

The Manchester Evening News reports that although Jose Mourinho would love to return to lead Manchester United, the club is unwilling to reassign the Portuguese manager.

The 61-year-old, who was sacked by United in December 2018, is rumored to have promised close friends and family members he would “walk” to Manchester to take over the team once more.

Mourinho, who was sacked by Roma in January following a two and a half year tenure, is supposedly friendly with Sir Jim Ratcliffe, United's co-owner, but the two-time Champions League champion does not anticipate an approach from his old team.

Mourinho's alleged interest in the Manchester United position after the Red Devils' dismal 4-0 loss against Crystal Palace on Monday, which dropped Erik ten Hag's team to eighth place in the Premier League standings.

Following his appointment as manager of Manchester United in May 2016, Mourinho won both the League Cup and the Europa League during his 2.5 years in the position.

Having won the Europa Conference League with the Italian team in 2022, the former Chelsea manager has subsequently managed Tottenham and Roma.
