VLADIMIR Putin takes oath of office for fifth term as Russia's President, extending his rule until 2030 and becoming the longest-serving Kremlin leader since Josef Stalin.

The inauguration ceremony was held at the Grand Kremlin Palace, where Putin placed his hand on the Russian Constitution, symbolizing his vow to defend it.

In his address, Vladimir Putin  acknowledged challenges like the Ukraine conflict, but expressed confidence in Russia's resilience and unity, rallying the people to overcome obstacles and emerge stronger together.

Amidst the ceremony, opposition figure Yulia Navalnaya denounced Putin's leadership, branding him a liar, thief, and murderer, and accusing his government of perpetuating war and political repression.

Navalnaya vowed to continue her husband Alexei Navalny's legacy, fighting for justice and accountability in the face of Putin's autocratic rule, despite the risks and challenges.
