Lagos Accident: Car Crashes into Truck at Isolo Under Bridge, 1 Dead

A car and truck collision in the Isolo underpass in Lagos, killing one person

A head-on incident at Isolo Under Bridge within Oshodi, Lagos State, on Friday resulted in one fatality between a Kia automobile with registration number KWL-475CZ and a stalled 20-foot containerized truck.

The terrible tragedy happened after the car struck the truck, which was stopped on the road, according to a statement issued by the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA) on Friday.

A female passenger in the vehicle died as a result of the collision's impact, while the driver was seriously hurt and sent to a nearby hospital right away.

Officials from the Nigeria Police Force (NPF) and LASTMA rushed quickly to the accident scene and put out great effort to free the trapped person from the car.

The victim was safely extricated from the wreckage with the use of light rescue equipment, and was then given to the Lagos State Environmental Health Monitoring Unit (SEHMU) for transfer to the mortuary.

A tow truck also helped collect the accident car, which is now being moved to the Olosan Police Station for additional examination.

The statement, headlined PRELIMINARY REPORT OF THE ROAD ACCIDENT AT ISOLO UNDER BRIDGE INWARD OSHODI, continued, “Meanwhile, we are awaiting the agency's heavy-duty equipment, I.e., a crane and low bed, to recover the abandoned containerized truck off the road.”

The identities of the victims were yet to be known at the time of filing this report.
