Kanayo O. Kanayo Condemns Attempt to Ban Money Ritual Films as Assault on Artistic Freedom

Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has vehemently opposed the proposed ban on money ritual films in Nigeria, labeling it as “arrant nonsense.” In a scathing critique, he questioned the minister's motives, suggesting that they have no meaningful work to do, just like Lai Mohammed, the Minister of Information and Culture.

Kanayo O. Kanayo's comments came in response to the minister's announcement to ban films that promote money rituals and violence. The actor believes that such a move is an overreach and an attempt to stifle creativity. He argued that filmmakers should be allowed to explore various themes and storylines without interference from the government.

“It's arrant nonsense!” Kanayo O. Kanayo exclaimed. “This minister has no work, just like Lai Mohammed. Instead of focusing on pressing issues, they're trying to dictate what we can and can't create. It's an assault on our artistic freedom.”

Kanayo O. Kanayo's outburst reflects the frustration and anger felt by many in the Nollywood industry, who see the proposed ban as an attempt to censor their work and stifle their creativity. The debate raises important questions about the role of government in regulating artistic expression and the limits of creative freedom.
