“I'm Not Picking The Super Eagles' New Captain,” says Findi

Finidi George, the new coach of the Super Eagles, has clarified further over the selection of the national team's captain, stating that he was not responsible for making that decision.

William Troost-Ekong, the team's assistant, has led the Super Eagles in the most of their games over the past few years, but team captain Ahmed Musa is currently without a club and is not anticipated to play any more international football.

Finidi, nevertheless, stated that he will let the players choose the team captain.

“It's not my responsibility (to pick a captain), it's the responsibility of the team,” he said during his media tour.

“People said Sunday Oliseh picked his captain and Finidi George should not do same.

“They will be them to decide who wears the captain's arm band.”

“The duty of selecting a captain lies with the team, not with me.”

With Ahmed Musa absent, William Ekong has been leading the Super Eagles as interim captain, while Kenneth Omeruo has emerged as the most experienced player in the team, making him a potential candidate for the captaincy.
