FG Approves Compensation Increases For Civil Officials
The Federal Government has approved a significant compensation increase of 25% to 35% for government officials across multiple consolidated salary systems.
This augmentation is applicable to the six remaining consolidated salary structures: Consolidated Public Service Salary Structure (CONPSS), Consolidated Research and Allied Institutions Salary Structure (CONRAISS), Consolidated Police Salary Structure (CONPOSS), Consolidated Paramilitary Salary Structure (CONPASS), Consolidated Intelligence Community Salary Structure (CONICCS), and Consolidated Armed Forces Salary Structure (CONAFSS).
According to Emmanuel Njoku, Head of Press for the National Salaries, Incomes, and Wages Commission (NSIWC), the hikes will take effect on January 1, 2024.
Furthermore, the Federal Government has approved pension increases ranging from 20% to 28% for retirees participating in the Defined Benefits Scheme under the aforementioned consolidated wage structures, all with the same effective date.
