Meet Ebenezer Olufowose, the new chairman of First Bank Ltd



According to the standards for non-executive directors' term established by the Central Bank of Nigeria, CBN, Ebenezer Olufowose was named as Tunde Hassan-Odukale, who resigned as chairman of First Bank Ltd. after serving on the board for 12 years.


Before assuming his current position, Olufowose was the Group Managing Director of First Ally Capital Limited, a well-known investment banking company in Lagos.


Prior to joining FirstBank, Olufowose held important positions at various esteemed organizations.


In his capacity as an Executive Director at Access Bank Plc and Citibank Nigeria, he oversaw the inception, planning, and carrying out of major corporate finance and investment banking transactions in Nigeria.


In 1985, Olufowose began his banking career with NAL Merchant Bank Plc, where he worked in the departments of corporate planning and finance.


His educational background includes an MA in International Economics from the University of Sussex, England, and a first-class honours degree in Economics from the University of Lagos.
