Charly Boy Sparks Ageism Row with Soyinka Comments
CONTROVERSIAL musician and activist, Charly Boy, has sparked outrage with his recent comments about Nobel laureate, Wole Soyinka after he said Peter Obi is unfit to rule 2027.
In a statement, Charly Boy dismissed Soyinka's opinions, saying: “Wole Soyinka is an old man suffering from a deteriorating brain disease, and as such, his views shouldn't be taken seriously.”
However, his statement has been met with widespread criticism, with many calling out Charly Boy for his disrespect and ageism. They argue that Soyinka's age and potential health issues do not diminish his intellectual capacity or the value of his contributions to society.
Soyinka, a renowned writer and activist, has continued to be an important voice in Nigeria's cultural and political landscape, and his opinions remain highly respected by many. Charly Boy's comments have been seen as an attempt to belittle and silence Soyinka, and have been widely condemned as unacceptable and disrespectful.
