16 People Died In A Single Collision On Enugu Road

Single collision took the lives of sixteen people on the Enugu road

The Enugu State Police Command confirmed on Tuesday, April 30, 2024, that a single fatal motor accident happened around 5:20 p.m. at Ekwegbe on the Enugu/Opi/Nsukka Road, killing fourteen males and two girls who were charred beyond recognition.

The collision involved an 18-seater white Toyota Hummer bus with registration number DAS 215 XA that was reportedly driven at excessive speeds before losing control and colliding with the Maduka University barrier beside the road.

The bus caught fire, killing sixteen people, while two additional passengers were saved alive after being pronounced dead by a hospital.
