We're Not Altering Price of Petrol, Avoid Panic Buying — NNPC To Nigerians

ACCORDING to Nigerian National Petroleum Company (NNPC) Limited, there is no variation in the cost of petroleum products.

The NNPC's spokesperson, Femi Soneye, urged Nigerians not to panic purchase in a statement on Thursday.

According to the national oil company, logistical issues are to blame for the restricted supply of gasoline in several areas of the country.

The business does claim that the problem has been resolved.

The statement reads: “The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC Ltd.) wishes to clarify that the tightness in the supply of Premium Motor Spirit currently being experienced in some areas across the country is as a result of logistics issues and that they have been resolved.

“It also wishes to reiterate that the prices of petroleum products are not changing.

“It urges Nigerians to avoid panic buying as there is a sufficiency of products in the country.”

The NNPC denied on March 24 that it has changed the gas pump pricing at any of its retail locations.

This occurred notwithstanding the organization's February 9 assurance to Nigerians that gas prices would not rise.

Also, the NNPC restated its dedication to maintaining the existing level of petroleum product sufficiency throughout all of its retail outlets nationwide.
