This week, We Distributed N50,000 Grants To 150,000 Nigerians — Doris Uzoka-Anite
THE Conditional Grant Scheme, which was started by the Federal Government, has paid out N50,000 to almost 150,000 people this week, according to Minister of Industry, Trade, and Investment Doris Uzoka-Anite.
This announcement was made by Uzoka-Anite on Thursday in a statement that was posted on her X (formerly Twitter) account.
Furthermore, the minister issued a warning to the public, stressing that the program is completely free and involves no expenses, to be on the lookout for dishonest and dishonest people who might ask for money in order to process the grant.
She reaffirmed that the award program is intended to help one million individuals in total and promised that after it is over, a detailed list of all the recipients will be made accessible.
She said: “Beware of fraudulent and unscrupulous parties demanding payment for grant processing.
“The Presidential conditional grant is completely free no fees required. The ONLY official source for federal grants and loans is fedgrantandloan.gov.ng.
“Grant disbursements are ongoing; 150,000 of the 1 million targeted payments have been issued as of this week.
“If you're verified and awaiting funds, we appreciate your patience during this process. For full transparency, a list of all beneficiaries will be released upon completion.”
The deadline for registration for the award program was previously set by the Minister for April 17, 2024.
She did, however, encourage those who haven't registered to proceed with their applications in spite of the deadline.
She mentioned that late registrants still had a chance to be eligible for the grant and alluded to possible modifications to the registration process.
She said: “Missed the grant application? You might still qualify for an MSME loan. Check your eligibility at our official website where applications are still open.
“You are also invited to visit your closest Bank of Industry branch. A list was published in an earlier tweet. Thank you for your patience as we work towards assisting everyone eligible.”
The PCGS targets to allocate 70 percent of the grants to women and youths, 10 percent to individuals with disabilities, and 5 percent to senior citizens, leaving the remaining 15 percent open to other groups.
The Trade Grant Scheme, which was originally slated to start on March 9, 2024, provides financial grants to qualified small business owners in a variety of areas, including trading, food services, ICT, transportation, creative industries, and artisanship, with no requirement for return.
70 percent of the subsidies are intended for women and young people, ten percent for people with disabilities, five percent for senior residents, and the remaining fifteen percent is open to other groups, according to PCGS targets.
The minister underlined that a N50,000 award would be promptly placed into the accounts of all eligible recipients, benefiting one million small enterprises located throughout the Federal Capital Territory's (FCT) six council regions and 774 Local Government regions (LGAs).
Uzoka-Anite stated that the program is expected to have a major influence on communities all over the country and that it aims to serve one million beneficiaries throughout all local administrations and the Federal Capital Territory.
