TOSIN Adarabioyo, a center-back eligible for the Super Eagles, is rumored to be on the verge of signing with Tottenham Hotspur.

According to speculations in the English media, Newcastle United is apparently showing interest in the 26-year-old.

Many clubs are vying for his signing at no cost because of his experience and skill, particularly since his contract with Fulham is about to expire in the summer.

Italian superpower AC Milan is considering a move for the Manchester City Academy graduate outside of the Premier League, but they will surely have a difficult time outbidding their English rivals.

The player makes £40,000 a week, and Fulham is keen to keep him under contract so he can't go for free this summer.

They intend to continue negotiating with the center-back in an effort to keep one of their key players.

Adarabioyo left Manchester City, where he had spent 17 years, in October 2020 and signed a three-year contract with Fulham.

The contract may be extended by the club for an additional year. The precise transfer cost is yet unknown, however local media sources said Manchester City would get £2 million for the player as well as a 20% sell-on fee for any further deals.

“Adarabioyo is happy in London and unsure about moving to Newcastle.”

Regarding the matter, football pundit Ben Jacobs has observed that the 26-year-old seems happy in London and that he hasn't shown any clear signs that he would choose Newcastle should the Magpies make an offer.

“We don't know yet where Adarabioyo's head lies. I've always been told that he's quite happy in London, and Fulham will push to get him to extend. So that one's not a given, and there's not yet any indication whether he would pick Newcastle should an offer arrive.”

Premier League statistics for Adarabioyo in 2023–2024

Adarabioyo has played in 20 league games for Fulham so far, and in 18 of those games, he has started, demonstrating consistency.

With 1.1 tackles and 1.3 interceptions on average per game, the former Manchester City defender has demonstrated his ability to thwart opposing plays in his defensive play.

Adarabioyo's overall rating of 6.80 indicates that he has unquestionably had an impact on the team as Fulham has managed to overcome the obstacles of the current campaign.

Furthermore, with an average of 4.0 clearances each game, his skill at averting danger has been demonstrated.

Has Adarabioyo participated in international play for the Super Eagles?

Adarabioyo is a Manchester native of Nigerian descent who is in a unique situation to be eligible for international competitions and represent both Nigeria and England.

In spite of his English heritage, the 26-year-old has not yet played for the Three Lions of England.

He did, however, start his international football career with England's youth setup, playing for the U-16, U-17, U-18, and U-19 teams, but he hasn't declared his allegiance at the senior level.

The Nigeria Football Federation (NFE) reportedly approached him to persuade him to play for the Super Eagles, but he first turned down the offer, according to reports.

However, in 2020, Adarabioyo expressed his desire to represent Nigeria or England in the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, raising the possibility of a change of heart.

Unfortunately, England participated in Qatar, but Adarabioyo was not included in their team. Nigeria did not participate.
