THE First Lady, Mrs. Oluremi Tinubu, has made a strong case for more social inclusion and early intervention for those with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).


Declaring on behalf of World Autism Awareness Day, Mrs.


Tinubu emphasized that assisting people on the autism spectrum in realizing their full potential requires early identification and access to support services.


“I urge parents and caregivers to be attentive to developmental milestones and seek professional help if any concerns arise,” she said.


The First Lady commended the distinctive qualities and inventiveness of autistic people while highlighting the enormous obstacles they and their families must overcome.


“I salute and celebrate the unwavering love and dedication of families with loved ones who are autistic,” said Mrs. Tinubu.


She emphasised how important it is for community organisations to provide opportunities, services, and resources that are necessary for people with autism.


Mrs. Tinubu emphasized that additional work needs to be done to establish a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere for Nigerians who have autism.


“Together we can create a world where individuals, irrespective of who they are, and whatever challenges they face, are empowered, included, and celebrated for their unique gifts,” the First Lady declared.
