Prince Harry Lists United States As His Official Residency
THE United States is officially listed as Prince Harry's new place of residence on a paper, apparently renunciating his British residency.
According to new documents, Prince Harry has surrendered his British residency and declared America to be his permanent home, according to the New York Post.
Harry, 39, made his first public statement on Wednesday at Travalyst's annual general meeting via video link. This was his first speech since his sister-in-law Kate Middleton revealed her cancer diagnosis.
Prince Harry established the sustainable tourism company Travalyst in 2019.
The nonprofit organization is headquartered in London, and as per the organization's policies, business returns were submitted at the end of the year incorporating Harry's “new details.”
He said that the “United States” was now his “new country/state,” according to Daily Mail. Harry listed the UK as his original place of abode when he created the company in 2019. This is a clear sign that Harry does not intend to remain permanently in his own nation for the foreseeable future.
Dubbed “Megxit,” Harry and his 42-year-old wife Meghan Markle moved to Montecito, California in 2020, where they currently reside with their two children, Prince Archie, 4, and Princess Lilibet, 2.
Frogmore Cottage, the UK residence that the late queen gave the Duke and Duchess of Sussex after their 2018 wedding, was put under lock and key. By 2023, they had finally moved out, leaving them
“Home for me, now, for the time being, is in the States. And it really feels that way, as well. We've been welcomed with open arms and have got such a great community up in Santa Barbara,” Harry said in a 2022 interview with Today. With this new paperwork, he's made it official, and not only a for now situation.
