Candidate rejection of Usman Ododo's election and request Tinubu's intervention in the Ondo primary

A few All Progressives Congress (APC) candidates for governor of Ondo state have declined to participate in the primary poll, which was overseen by Kogi state governor Usman Ododo.

Prior to the November 16 governor's race, the APC in Ondo held its primary election on Saturday across the state's 203 wards.

One of the candidates, Gbenga Edema, suggested delaying the poll until everything was set in place.

Edema voiced her annoyance at the election materials' delayed publication.

He pointed out that it went against the consensus made at the stakeholders' meeting on Friday.

“We are saying that they should reschedule another election because this election did not even hold.

“This is another form of failure. Ododo has not performed his responsibility concerning this election. This is an anti- democratic process.”

President Bola Tinubu was urged to step in during the process by Rotimi Ogunleye, speaking on behalf of candidate Olusola Oke.

Paul Oniyemofe, a candidate for Dayo Faduyile, called the election a “day light robbery” and requested that it be rescheduled.
