Police Detain Delta University Student Who Stabbed His Girlfriend, 19, During Altercation
Raphael Egbo, a 20-year-old student at Delta State University of Science and Technology, was detained by the police for the murder of his 19-year-old girlfriend during altercation.
Following the parade of the suspect and other individuals implicated in various crimes, Olufemi Abaniwonda, the Commissioner of Police, recommended that the people attend anger management classes.
He said, “On 29/3/2024 at about 0700hours, the DPO Ozoro Division received A report on a suspected murder of one Jessica Uzowanne 'f' aged 19yrs. "Investigation revealed the suspect was stabbed to death by her boyfriend one Raphael Egbo 'm' aged 20yrs over a disagreement. Suspect is in custody and investigation is ongoing.”
Recall that in October 2023, the Rivers State Police Command arrested a guy in connection with the murder of his girlfriend, in a case akin to this one.
The victim, a University of Port Harcourt (UNIPORT) 300-level biochemistry student, was unfortunately discovered at the suspect's home, mutilated, after being reported missing.
The suspect was observed by estate security staff trying to remove the victim's body.
Witnesses later searched his apartment after the security crew sounded the alarm and found Justina's mutilated body in bloody sacks, minus her breasts and eyes.
Meanwhile, unsettling photos of the dead, who was allegedly killed by her boyfriend, a 400-level Oil and Gas student at the same university, started making the rounds on the internet.
Otuene had celebrated her birthday on October 14 just a few days before to her passing.
This incident fits into a concerning pattern; a situation similar to this one occurred in Lagos in September 2023.
Samuel Adeniyi killed his girlfriend with a sledgehammer because he thought she would leave him for another man. This led to his incarceration.
