Kano APC Revokes Ganduje's Suspension
Abdullahi Ganduje |
THE All Progressive Congress (APC), State Working Committee in Kano State has censured a few ward party leaders who had earlier placed the party's national chairman, Abdullahi Ganduje, under suspension.
The APC national chairman was suspended on Monday, April 15, by leaders in Ganduje's ward in Dawakin Tofa Local Government.
The party's local government representatives swiftly countered the suspension and fired those responsible.
Inusa Dawanau, the APC chairman in Dawakin Tofa Local Government, disclosed that those responsible for Ganduje's suspension were apprehended engaging in anti-party actions and that their correspondence with the opposition was made public.
A special investigative panel has been established to confirm multiple accusations made against the ward APC leaders. The party's state working committee said that the offenders have been sanctioned for a period of six months in addition to the suspension of the leaders.
Abdullahi Abbas, the chairman of the APC in Kano State, stated that the choices made by the party's Local Government leaders had subsequently been implemented.
However, Halliru Gwanjo, one of the accused party leaders who oversaw Ganduje's suspension, revealed that the reason for the decision was the bribery accusations made against him by the Kano state administration.
