RIVERS Governor Siminalayi Fubara has reassigned two commissioners inside his administration in a significant shuffle since assuming office.

The development was disclosed in a statement released on Tuesday by Tammy Danagogo, secretary to the state government (SSG).

Zacchaeus Adangor, the attorney general and commissioner for justice, was transferred by Fubara to the ministry of special tasks.

Isaac Kamalu, the commissioner of finance, was also assigned by the governor to the ministry of economic empowerment and job creation.

Danagogo stated that the deployment is effective immediately and that the commissioners are to turn over their responsibilities to the permanent secretaries in their departing ministries.

Nyesom Wike, the current minister of the federal capital territory (FCT) and the immediate past governor of Rivers, has the support of both commissioners.

The political disagreement between Wike and Fubara last year led to the commissioners' resignations from their posts.

Following Wike and Fubara's signature on a peace agreement brokered by President Bola Tinubu, they were later restored.

The political hierarchy of Rivers is being contested by Wike and Fubara.

27 state house of assembly members who support Wike defected from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC) as a result of the political unrest.

The governor has been subject to threats of impeachment from the lawmakers.

After the governor declined to provide his consent, the legislature vetoed at least three laws.
