AGN Bans Movies Featuring Riverine Locations And Prevents Actors From Appearing In Adanma Luke Productions
FOLLOWING Junior Pope's passing, AGN bans movies featuring riverine locations and prevents actors from appearing in productions by producer Adanma Luke.
Actors Guild of Nigeria (AGN) has put a stop to all film productions that involve riverine locations or boat trips in the wake of the sad boat accident that killed three crew members and Nollywood actor Junior Odonwodo, also known as Junior Pope.
It was previously reported that the movie star, while traveling to a filming location in Asaba, Delta state, fell into the River Niger.
It was reported that he was with a few other actors.
“Yes. It happened at Asaba, River Niger. He had a fatal boat mishap. Unfortunately, he lost his life with four others that have not been identified yet,” Abubakar Yakubu, the national secretary of AGN has said.
Emeka Rollas, the president of the guild, revealed this in a circular dated April 11, 2024.
Actors are also prohibited from appearing in any Adanma Luke-produced movies for the time being.
Luke is the producer of the film The Other Side of Life, which starred Junior Pope before to his passing.
The AGN press release said, “Following the tragic incident of a boat mishap that claimed the life of Junior Pope and three other crew members at waterside of River Niger Cable point Asaba on April 10, all films that involve riverine areas and boat riding are hereby suspended indefinitely.
“There should be no shoot on all locations nationwide on Thursday, April 11, 2024.
“Also, no actor is allowed to work with Adamma Luke as a producer till further notice.
“While we keep searching for the bodies of the remaining persons, may their souls rest in peace.”
