What happened To Mr. Ibu — Emeka Rollas
Popular Nollywood actor John Okafor, also known as Mr. Ibu, passed away from cardiac arrest, according to Actor Guild of Nigeria (AGN) National President Emeka Rollas.
Rollas revealed Mr. Ibu's passing on his Instagram page on Saturday night.
He said that it was a sad day for the AGN and a sad death.
The actor disclosed that he had a condition in October 2023 that might require him to amputate one of his legs. He claimed that while working on a movie set with other Nollywood actors and actresses, he became aware of the issue.
In order to pay for his medical expenses, Mr. Ibu had made a request for prayers and money from his fans and the general public. In addition, he uploaded a video of himself expressing his fear of losing his leg while lying in a hospital bed.
Okafor suffered from a disease that necessitated seven surgeries, and in November 2023 he had his leg amputated.
The amputation, according to his family, was necessary to preserve his life and improve his prognosis.
Mr. Ibu had acted in more than 200 Nollywood movies.
