Sanwo-Olu Expands Bursaries And Scholarships For Students In Lagos
The Lagos State Government has raised the amounts of bursaries and scholarships available to state residents enrolled in postsecondary institutions.
The Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, made this statement on Tuesday at the Ministry of Tertiary Education's One-Day Interactive Session with Students Union Leaders and Stakeholders in Lagos State. The theme of the session was “Students as Strategic Partners in the Governance Process: Challenges and Prospects for Youth Development.”
According to a statement released by the Lagos State Government, starting in 2024, indigenous students will receive bursaries and scholarships worth N225,000 and N60,000, respectively, instead of the current amounts of N200,000 and N50,000.
The governor also announced scholarships for underprivileged and physically challenged students attending public postsecondary institutions during the event. He declared that Lagos natives would not be the only recipients of the scholarship.
