President Bola Tinubu, the successor to the former President Muhammadu Buhari, is said to have done a very good job since taking office nine months ago.

According to the former president, Tinubu has done well.

Considering the current situation, it is acknowledged that Nigeria is a challenging nation to manage. In Daura, Katsina state, over the weekend, Buhari received members of the management team of the Nigeria Customs Service (NCS), including Comptroller-General of Customs Bashir Adewale Adeniyi.

Many have criticized Tinubu for his economic policies, which include unifying exchange rate windows and eliminating fuel subsidies.

Protests have recently resulted from the depreciation of the naira, economic hardship, and galloping inflation brought on by these and other policies.

Speaking to Adeniyi and his group, Buhari said that Nigeria was a difficult country to deal with and urged the populace to bear the nation's economic hardships while supporting the policies and initiatives of the current government. “I thank you very much for coming. I very much appreciate it. I thought Tinubu has done very well,” Buhari said. “Nigeria is so complex. Really, there isn't much anybody can do.”

It should be mentioned that Buhari has previously stated that leading Nigeria is a difficult task for leaders.

In an interview with the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA) in November 2023, Buhari stated that governing the nation was challenging.

“Nigerians are extremely difficult. People know their rights. They think they should be there, not you. So, they monitor virtually your every step. And you have to struggle day and night to ensure you are competent enough," he had said.
