Media Tycoon Rupert Murdoch Gets Engaged To Elena Zhukova
Rupert Murdoch, an Australian businessman, becomes engaged for the sixth time
American business tycoon Rupert Murdoch, who was born in Australia, is getting engaged for the sixth time.
The 92-year-old and the 67-year-old Elena Zhukova are set to tie the knot in June 2024. The New York Times reports that they have sent out their wedding invitations.
The retired Russian molecular biologist and Murdoch are said to have been dating for a few months.
Murdoch has been married four times. He resigned from his position as chairman of Fox and News Corp. last year.
He announced his engagement to Ann Lesley Smith, a former police chaplain In April 2023, but it was called off in two weeks.
Prudence was the couple's only child. Murdoch wed Patricia Booker, a former flight attendant, for the first time in 1956.
His second marriage, to Anna Torv, a trainee journalist he met while she was working on one of his Australian titles, lasted more than thirty years after their divorce, which occurred eleven years later.
Elisabeth, Lachlan, and James, their three adult children, all seemed to have had a claim to the mantle at one point or another.
Murdoch married Wendi Deng, his third wife, in 1999, barely three weeks after divorcing Anna, and the two had two more children together: daughters Grace and Chloe.
Murdoch shocked everyone in 2016 when she tied the knot with former Rolling Stones singer Mick Jagger's partner, Jerry Hall, with whom she had four children. Before they also got divorced, the marriage lasted for six years.
Murdoch's media empire began in Australia in the 1950s and included the acquisition of the New York Post, Wall Street Journal, News of the World and Sun in 1969, as well as the TV channel Fox News, which debuted in 1996.
