Ngannou sees the fight as an opportunity to prove himself and aims to knock out Joshua, despite acknowledging Joshua's skills.

Anthony Joshua vs. Francis Ngannou takes place this Friday, and it's expected to be an electrifying bout full of fireworks.

Many have referred to Joshua as the established force that continues to dominate boxing, while Ngannou is the up-and-coming force that, despite her lack of professional experience, hopes to overthrow the titans.

The 34-year-old Nigerian fighter is working to earn back the titles he lost to Oleksandr Usyk in August 2022—the WBA, IBO, and IBF.

He outlasted Otto Wallin on Christmas Eve of last year, winning their non-title bout in Riyadh via technical knockout after five rounds.

However, Ngannou hopes to capitalize on his strong performance in Saudi Arabia, even though he lost to Tyson Fury on a split decision.

Critics of the Cameroonian have not been in short supply. While Andrei Arlovski, a fellow former heavyweight champion in mixed martial arts, acknowledges that Ngannou had a reason for leaving the UFC, he feels that the mixed martial arts industry was not the best for the feud with Dana White.

People Underestimate Me

Joshua declared in a face-off interview that he was entering the fight to disprove his detractors because he had been underestimated in a number of places.

People underestimate me a lot.” he said.

“I expect it to be a good fight, It's not even the strength that I carry, It is the brains. I will process what I need to process and I will do what I need to do.”

“I am ready for 10 rounds.”

The former unified heavyweight champion declared that he would be the last person standing at the conclusion of the fight.

I will be victorious

“I will be victorious, I have my own legacy and I am destined by God.”

“Everything in my life has been designed to make me move forward in my life and I will be victorious.”

“I am looking forward to the challenge so I can learn a lot about myself.”

He Will Be Down On Canvas

The Nigerian will be the one on the canvas following the fight, according to the former UFC Heavyweight Champion, even though he respects Joshua.

“When I look at this fight I know AJ is great at his game and I respect that, If I was not in this fight I would have been betting on AJ...”
