D'Tigress has been placed in a challenging group, against Australia, Canada, and France in the 2024 Olympic Games basketball competition in Paris.

The draw took place at the Mies, Switzerland, home of Patrick Beauman on Tuesday.

The Olympic basketball competition will take place at the Paris-based Bercy Arena from July 27 to August 11.

Three of the D'Tigress' opponents in group B are ranked higher than the Nigerian team.

Australia, Canada and France are ranked number three, five, and seven in the world, respectively, while Rena Wakama's girls are number 12 but rated first in the continent.

Group C is drawn to include Germany, the US, Japan, and Belgium, while Group A is drawn to include Serbia, Spain, China, and Puerto Rico.

D'Tigress will be qualifying for the Olympics for the third time with her appearance in Paris.

The women competed in the Olympics in Tokyo 2020 and qualified for Athens 2004.

D'Tigress has not yet won any of the competition's games. They gave up more than 400 points and dropped all five of their games in 2004.

They suffered defeats of 87–62 against France in their opening game in Tokyo, 81–72 against the US in their second game, and 102–83 against Japan in their last match.

D'Tigers finished last in the Olympic pre-qualifiers, preventing them from making it to the Paris Games.
