Troost-Ekong Undergoes Successful Surgery In Finland
William Troost-Ekong |
According to Fabrizio Romano, Super Eagles captain William Troost-Ekong will miss the remainder of this season following a successful surgery in Finland.
It has now been revealed that Troost-Ekong suffered a hamstring strain while competing in the continental tournament's group stages.
The defender was forced to miss the last group match against Guinea-Bissau as a result.
However, Troost-Ekong continued to play despite the injury, playing 120 minutes in the semifinal match against South Africa and shattering Stephen Keshi's record as the highest-scoring Nigerian defender at the AFCON.
The Nigerian international is currently receiving surgery in Finland to fix a biceps femoi Q rupture in his right leg.
Interestingly, Troost-Ekong is anticipated to rejoin his team by the end of the season, even though his surgery was minor.
