AFCON 2023: Super Eagles Defeat South Africa's Bafana Bafana To Advance To The Finals

Nigeria's Super Eagles will play in the Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) final in Ivory Coast, against the host Ivory Coast.

Nigeria defeated Bafana Bafana of South Africa 4-2 on penalties in the semi-final at the Stade de la Paix in Bouake on Wednesday.

The three-time AFCON winners will play either the Democratic Republic of the Congo or the hosts, Ivory Coast, in the championship game on Sunday after the game ended 1-1 after extra time.

The night's MVP was Stanley Nwabali, who stopped two penalty kicks. South Africa dominated the first half of the match, making it difficult for Nigeria to advance to their fourth AFCON final.

South Africa was defeated 4-2 by Nigeria thanks to a goal from substitute Kelechi Iheanacho in the penalty shootout.
