Supreme Court Declared Sim Fubara As Duly Elected Governor Of Rivers State

Sim Fubara has been proclaimed as the duly elected governor of Rivers State by the Supreme Court.

The election of Siminalayi Fubara, a member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), as the governor of Rivers has been confirmed by the Supreme Court.

A five-member panel of the court ruled unanimously on Thursday that Tonye Cole of the All Progressives Congress (APc) had not made a meritorious appeal.

Justice Ibrahim Saulawa ruled in the lead judgment that Cole and the APC had not provided sufficient evidence to support their claims.

All four of the issues that needed to be decided in the appeal against the appellants were settled by Justice Saulawa.
