'Kidnapper' greets Tinubu During Confession [VIDEO]

President Tinubu receives a special shout-out from the notorious Abuja kidnapper during a press conference where the latter denied ever being a kidnapper.

President Bola Tinubu has received a salute from Chinasa Okoye, a suspect who was detained in Abuja for kidnapping.

He denied having abducted anyone. Mr. Okoye acknowledged robbing a car and kidnapping the driver.

It was unclear if Mr. Okoye was under pressure when he made his confessional statement.

As FCT police paraded Mr. Okoye on Wednesday, he answered questions from journalists and admitted to being an armed robber. Mr. Okoye claimed to be a taxi driver.

“First of all, I want to greet the president of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, Mr Bola Ahmed Tinubu, and (the) ordinary president of (the) Brekete family,” Mr Okoye said.

He added, “I'll explain. I and my friend, Chidebere, went on 'parole' to collect a car, to steal a car.”

Mr. Okoye says that Yellow and Chidiebere, two of his gang members, made the decision to kidnap their victim in order to steal the money from his bank account.
