Manchester United secured a convincing 4-1 win over Wolverhampton Wanderers, climbing to sixth place in the Premier League table. This victory extends their unbeaten league run on the road to five matches, with three wins and two draws.

Wolves, who had only two points from their opening 14 games, struggled to make an impact against United. Bruno Fernandes scored two goals, while Mason Mount and Bryan Mbeumo also contributed to the victory. Fernandes' first-half goal was briefly equalized by Jean-Ricner Bellegarde, but United dominated the second half to secure the win.

This result leaves Wolves still bottom of the table, 13 points adrift of safety, while Manchester United moves level with Chelsea on 25 points, sitting sixth due to inferior goal difference. Wolves' struggles continue, with their latest defeat marking an eighth consecutive league loss and 13th of the season.

Ruben Amorim's side started strong, with Diogo Dalot and Bryan Mbeumo having early chances saved by Sam Johnstone. But it was the visitors who broke the deadlock in the 25th minute, Casemiro's pass finding Matheus Cunha, who set up Bruno Fernandes for a close-range finish.

United went in pursuit of a quickfire second as Cunha saw a strike cleared off the line by Toti Gomes, while at the other end, Jean-Ricner Bellegarde fired a powerful long-range effort off-target.

That was a sign of things to come for the under-pressure hosts, as Rob Edwards’ side restored parity on the stroke of half time when David Moller Wolfe’s cut-back was superbly directed into the far corner by Bellegarde for Wolves’ first goal since October.

The second half started with a similar intensity, and United soon doubled their lead. Dalot broke through Wolves' defense and squared for Mbeumo to tap in. The Red Devils kept pushing, and Fernandes' perfect delivery was volleyed home by Mason Mount, who scored his third PL goal of the season.

The one-way traffic showed no signs of slowing down with time ticking into the final 20 minutes, and after Cunha and Amad Diallo missed half-chances for Amorim’s men, the visitors were awarded a penalty for a handball against Yerson Mosquera.

Fernandes stepped up to the spot and clinically dispatched the penalty into the bottom-left corner, sealing an eighth successive PL defeat for the increasingly forlorn hosts, who are already guaranteed to stay bottom at Christmas.
