FG Plans To Provide School Lunches For A Meager N100 Billion In 2024Passports Passage To Return

President Bola Tinubu on Monday disclosed that the 2024 budget includes N100 billion allocation for the school feeding programmes

According to President Bola Tinubu, the school feeding programs will receive N100 billion in funding for 2024.

On Monday, January 1, during the State House signing ceremony in Abuja for the 2024 appropriations bill, Tinubu made this declaration.

He claimed that the provision will act as a catalyst to promote school attendance and lessen the issue of children who are not in school.

According to Tinubu, the measure will act as a catalyst to promote school attendance and lessen the issue of out-of-school youth. “One of the priority areas of the bill we just passed is the N100 billion provision for the feeding of school children. I believe that is a stimulant that will encourage school enrolment and also address malnutrition among school children.”

“I will be meeting with local government at sub-national levels so that we can collaborate and jointly implement an all-inclusive programme,” the President said.

Tinubu ordered earlier in December to move the school feeding program from the Humanitarian Ministry to the Education Ministry and to reintroduce it. The initiative, which was put on hold under former President Muhammadu Buhari, will now be overseen by the Education Ministry and will serve the dual purposes of giving students wholesome meals and promoting attendance and improving education
