Nigerian men have been advised to find out if their side girls are HIV positive, especially the married ones.
At a recent press conference, Mohammed Bello Mu'azu, the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) commandant for Gombe State, issued the warning.
Mu'azu advised the public to avoid having extramarital affairs and to make sure they find out their partner's status before having a sexual encounter.
He warned men to be cautious and find out if their side chicks are HIV positive because the prevalence rate in Gombe State is startlingly high and many unaware carriers are in their window of opportunity. He compared HIV to a time bomb.
