The decision was made during a discussion about the results of an earlier interaction with the Federal Government

The current strike suspended on Wednesday night by the Trade Union Congress and the Nigeria Labour Congress National Executive Council.

The unions claimed that Nuhu Ribadu, the National Security Advisor, intervened and caused the suspension.

According to information obtained, the meeting, which started a little after 7 o'clock at night, lasted over an hour. During that time, representatives from several affiliates and state chapters discussed the conclusions of the conference that had been held between Ribadu and the leaders of organized labour.

The National Deputy Vice-President of the TUC, Tommy Etim, made this known in an interview with our correspondents in Abuja.

"The NEC of the NLC and the TUC have suspended the strike. We did this based on our trust for the National Security Adviser, Nuhu Ribadu, who gave us his words," he said.

The labour leaders and Simon Lalong, the minister of labour, met with Ribadu at the Office of the NSA, on Wednesday afternoon.

The people behind Ajaero's abuse had been apprehended, according to an announcement made by the NSA.

Labour unions are demonstrating against the government's apparent abuse of power against Joe Ajaero, their National President, and against the government's apparent inability to carry on some of the agreements made on October 2, 2023.
