A 69-year-old retired Oyo permanent secretary was brutally murdered, a day after telling police that her life was being threatened



Olaitan Gbenle, 69, a retired woman, was brutally murdered in Ibadan, Oyo State, by as-yet-unidentified assailants.


Between Thursday and Friday of last week, the deceased, a retired permanent secretary with the Oyo State government, was attacked and knocked down at her home on All Saints College Road, Idi Ishin, near NIHORT area of Ibadan.


The Nigerian Tribune claims that the woman's attackers tied her hands and legs, leaving her shocked.


She was still wearing the clothing she was on on Thursday when she was apparently discovered on Friday morning, her hands and legs tied.


It was learnt that the killers came to the deceased's house a day after she reported to the police that her life was being threatened by some hoodlums who used to smoke marijuana close to her residence.


Additional information revealed that the dead was scheduled to host a gathering of heads of service and retired permanent secretaries on Thursday, November 16, before to her horrific demise.


The report states that Oyo State Police Command detectives have started looking into the murder case.
