The figure is different from the N209 million paid on personal expenses in the governor's office, according to official documents.
All of these were included in the Osun State budget performance report for the third quarter of 2023, which was available on the state website along with the income and expense statements for the July–September 2023 period.
“This document provides information on the performance of the 2023 budget for the third quarter (July September). It is prepared quarterly and published within four weeks (28 days) of the end of each Quarter,” the report posted on the state website had read.
While preparing the budget for Fiscal Year 2023, the Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget and Development created a thorough Revenue and Expenditure Framework. As approved by the Osun State House of Assembly, the FY 2023 budget will be implemented starting on January 1st, 2023, and ending on December 31st, 2023.
“On the 15th of August, 2023, the Revised budget was approved by the State House of Assembly and assented by the Governor, His Excellency, Senator Ademola Jackson Nurudeen Adeleke. The need for a revised budget is to allow the State Government carryout activities which will make positive impact on the Economy of the State.”
Every quarter, the Budget Implementation Committee examines the budget's performance before it is posted online. To guarantee improvements in State operations and Public Financial and Resource Management, the Ministry of Economic Planning, Budget, and Development must, nevertheless, continue to make the necessary efforts.
“The Budget performance for Quarter Three (Q3) reflects the actual inflow and outflow of resources in the State as at the end of 2023 Third Quarter with respect to the 2023 revised estimates.”
This report includes the following: actual expenditures for the third quarter (03), attributed to each Ministry, Department, and Agency (MDA); cumulative expenditures for the year thus far; balances against each revenue and expenditure appropriation; and the approved budget appropriation (2023 Original Budget) for each organizational unit for each of the core economic classification of expenditures (Personnel, Overheads, Capital, and Others).
