MOHBAD'S DEATH: Nigerian Police Are Yet To Receive Late Mohbad's Autopsy Report

We’re yet to get Mohbad’s autopsy report, according to Lagos Police

The autopsy report of late musician Ilerioluwa Aloba, commonly known as Mohbad, which was completed two months ago, has not been received by the Lagos State Police Command.

It’s been two months since the late singer Mohbad's body was excavated and an autopsy was performed to ascertain the reason of his death.

Following Mohbad’s death on September 12th, which sparked outrage both within and outside of Nigeria, the police organized an inquiry team to determine the facts behind the musician’s death. In September, Benjamin Hundeyin, the state police’s public relations officer, tweeted that a “autopsy has been completed” and that officials were “awaiting results.”

Mohbad’s murder was linked to a number of primary suspects in October, including then-Commissioner of Police Idowu Owohunwa, who said Mohbad had vomiting and goosebumps after three injections from nurse Feyisayo Ogedemgbe on September 12, 2023. Following it, charges were filed against some of the suspects.

Last Friday, however, the state Police Command released singer Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, and socalite Balogun Samson, aka Sam Larry, after they met their bail conditions. Remember that after video of the late singer being abused surfaced online, the duo was arrested as part of an investigation into Mohbad’s death.

In answer to a question about the release of Mohbad's autopsy report, Hundeyin stated that the report had not yet been received formally by the command.

According to Hundeyin, “The autopsy report has not been given to us. Some people have been carrying rumours that it's ready. It’s one thing for it to be ready, it’s another thing for it to be given to us officially - that we would receive and sign a copy that we have received it. So, we don’t work with rumours, we work with facts.”
