UCL: Ancelotti Defends Struggling Real Madrid Star
Carlo Ancelotti, manager of Real Madrid, defended Kepa Arrizabalaga following the goalkeeper's performance in his team's 3-2 victory over Napoli in the Champions League on Tuesday.
This summer, Arrizabalaga was sent on loan from Chelsea to Real Madrid to fill in for the injured Thibaut Courtois.
In the group stage matchup of the Champions League versus Napoli, the Spaniard began as predicted.
After failing to deal with a corner kick from Khvicha Kvaratskhelia in the 19th minute of the game, his positioning came under scrutiny.
Arrizabalaga attempted to punch it out but failed miserably, allowing Leo Skiri Ostigard to score the game's first goal.
Federico Valverde, Jude Bellingham, and Vinicius Junior all scored goals for Ancelotti's team throughout the contest.
Ancelotti commented on Arrizabalaga's performance (via MadridXtra).
"Sometimes Kepa struggles with crosses because he is not very tall, but nobody is perfect.
"Not even me and I'm very handsome (laughs)."
