Giorgia Meloni, the prime minister of Italy, dumps her partner, Andrea Giambruno, after hearing his sexist remarks

The television journalist and boyfriend of Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, Andrea Giambruno, who was caught on camera making sexist remarks, has been dumped.

The couple has been together for about ten years and have a daughter, age seven.

The 46-year-old Prime Minister announced her split from Giambruno on social media on Friday, October 20, after videos of him making derogatory remarks and provocative statements to a female coworker went viral. Giambruno is a presenter on Mediaset's news talk show Diario Del Giorno.

"How do you do, darling?" Giambruno is heard telling a female colleague on the sidelines of his talk show.

"Do you know that (name redacted) and I are having an affair? All of Mediaset knows it and now you do too," he tells the woman, who is also off camera.

"But we're looking for a third person, as we do threesomes. Foursomes too. Would you like to be part of our working group?" he says in remarks broadcast by a different television channel on Tuesday and Thursday.

In another comment, he says: "Can I touch my b*lls while I talk to you?"

A spokesperson at Mediaset, which is owned by the Berlusconi family, informed the ANSA news agency on Friday that Giambruno had been demoted to presenter while the organization looked into the matter.
